Edinburgh: Whisky Tasting with History and Storytelling

1.Edinburgh: Whisky Tasting with History and Storytelling

★★★★★★★★★★4.9 · 2,451 reviews · 2 hours · from $24Our pick

Meet your English-speaking guide at Hot Toddy, just off the Royal Mile, for a two-hour tasting of four single malts from Scotland’s main whisky regions. You’ll learn how to taste whisky, follow its history through stories of kings, smugglers, and outlaws, and receive tasting notes. Alternatives are available if whisky is not for you.

“Cannot recommend this enough. Great whisky, great atmosphere, and the guide Alistair is one of the funniest and most charismatic fellows I've had the pleasure of meeting. Absolutely worth the time and money, and the only mark against this was a distinct lack of any mention of Australian whisky. Despite that, an easy 5/5.”

She was friendly and very knowledgeable of everything. She suggested Balblair distillery tour instead of other, which we ended up liking it so much more. The castle was nice, we didn’t have that much time for the castle, but the falcon show was amazing. Love it! Overall, I would recommended this tour company highly and Sara. We had a lovely time.”

“Interesting opportunity to step back in time and understand the history of part of the island, with both the train ride and Abbey tour. The view from Cherry Tree hill was amazing. Only downside was the so called rum tasting which was sparse to say the least (2 very very small samples) and somewhat disappointing given how much they talked up the award winning rums we could only look at. All the guides through the day were great and shared so much information”
